“Come, come, whoever you are. Wanderer, worshipper, lover of leaving, it does not matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair. Come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times. Come, yet again, come.”
Rumi
Rumi's Caravan
Where hearts meet.
A place where people help one another, without boundaries, without judgement.
Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames.
Rumi
Your Zakat, honoured
Kept in its own sacred trust. Given only to those who are eligible. Delivered in full.
100% of your Zakat reaches the recipient, never a rupee taken for anything else.
Where your money goes
Every rupee, accounted for.
We would rather tell you plainly than promise vaguely. Here is exactly what happens to a gift of one hundred dollars, both kinds.
A general gift of A$ 100
A$ 95 goes to the cause you chose
A$ 5 keeps Rumi running: the verification visits, the portal, the lights
At the moment of giving you can choose to cover the A$ 5 yourself, so your full hundred reaches the cause. Most people do.
Zakat of A$ 100
A$ 100 reaches a verified eligible recipient, in full
Rumi takes nothing from Zakat, not now, not ever
Zakat lives in its own sealed fund, never mixed with anything else, and goes only to those confirmed eligible for it.
Behind every payout: two people must approve it, every action is written into a record no one can erase, and proof of the delivered help comes back to you.
“I wanted to build something that lets people help one another, without discrimination, without judgement, without boundaries.”
GAK
Ghayyur Abbas Khan
Co-Founder & System Architect
“I came to build a system. I stayed to build something that heals. Rumi is the two of us, and now, you.”
“If you want to be happy for an hour, take a nap. If you want to be happy for a day, go fishing. If you want to be happy for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want to be happy for a lifetime, help someone else.”
Chinese proverb
The wall of light
Every soul who joins adds a light.
The caravan is only two flames today. Add yours, and watch how a little light gathers into many.
2 lights, and the caravan grows.
Our story
A journey that began long before Rumi.
Before there was a vision, there was a young man with a dream. Suny Shaikh arrived in Australia at just nineteen, carrying little more than ambition, and the belief that hard work could build a better future. Years later, a single idea from a friend's book changed everything: a great thing should never depend on people, it should be built on systems that outlive them. That search for someone who could turn ideas into systems led him to Ghayyur Abbas Khan, known warmly as Jack.
A twenty hour contract became months, then years, then a partnership that continues to this day. Somewhere between the meetings that ran past midnight, they found what many traditions call a soul family, and began asking a question that had nothing to do with profit.
Yes, completely. Zakat lives in its own sealed fund, is never mixed with general donations, is never touched for running costs, and goes only to recipients our team has verified as eligible. One hundred percent of it reaches them.
How do you verify that a case is real?
Our team checks every case before it is ever shown: documents, conversations, and wherever possible a visit in person. Photos are checked against the internet to catch stolen images, and nothing publishes itself. A case only goes live once a team member has approved it, and whoever verifies a case is never the same person who approves it.
Can I give without anyone knowing my name?
Yes. You can give completely anonymously. The person you helped and the public will never see your name, and only our team knows it, because the law requires us to keep honest books.
What happens if a case receives more than it needs?
You decide, at the moment you give. Either the extra moves on to help another verified case, or every rupee stays with the family you chose. We record your choice and honour it, always.
Who can see a person's details?
Full case details are shown only to registered helpers, never to the open internet. A person may ask to stay unnamed and still be helped, we never show a face together with an exact address, and private papers like ID cards and medical reports stay locked inside Rumi, visible only to the team members who need them.
What does the five percent actually pay for?
The unglamorous things that make the help real: travelling to verify cases, running the portal, and keeping the lights on. The percentage is published, the founders can only change it openly, and every change is written into a permanent record.
